We have purchased a large number of old photographs that came from a barn in Kentucky.

We have not discovered any definite links to the origin or family these images may belong to YET, so we will be posting them on our website, in order to see if anyone else can assist in recognizing these individuals.
Some of the photos are old tin-types from the late 1800’s, while others are actually drawings of the individuals.
There are also some newer photos that will will be sorting through in the coming months, if we can get a few volunteers to assist us. We will be posting the ones that contain names first.

Our Preliminary research indicates some of the oldest images may be related to the Seventh Annual Soldiers’ Re-Union held at Petersburg, Indiana on Sept 27, 28 and 29, 1893.

Other identification that we discovered were images possibly related to:
J.R. Poland, who might have been a Wisconsin Leaf Tobacco Dealer,
Vernon Lee Taught, of Hammond, Indiana, possibly in the Boiler Makers Union,
Virgil Smith and Dorthy Smith from Franklin, Indiana
R.E. Thompson in a Military Photo
Willie and Otto Hope
James A. Johnson

We will update this post, as we have time to sort through the photos and continue posting them on our website as we have more available.
If anyone in or close to Spencer County, Indiana would be willing to volunteer to spend an hour or two, every week or so, in one of our offices scanning these images, please let us know.
Also, if anyone is interested in making a financial donation that will allow us to purchase additional old family photographs that are not claimed by local family members, please use the Donation link on our website AmericanLegacies.org or you can send your personal checks to:
