The Fenian’s enter Canada.
The Fenian’s were a secret revolutionary society of Irishmen and women organized in 1858 with the goal of forcing the British out of Ireland. Also known as the Fenian Brotherhood, the group fled first to France, and then many to the United States, lead by John O’Mahony.

Americans have the tradition of family gatherings, barbecuing, eating watermelons, and ending the Fourth of July with the array of beautiful fireworks bursting in the sky.
My curiosity sparked on how our former and current Presidents’ celebrated one of the most noted holidays in America. Here’s a look from George Washington to James Monroe.
George Washington
It was Palm Sunday and, because of a sore throat, five-year-old Johnny stayed home from church with a sitter. When the family returned home, they were carrying several palm branches. The boy asked what they were for.
People held them over Jesus' head as he walked by," his older brother explained.
"Wouldn't you know it," the boy fumed. "The one Sunday I don't go, He showed up!"

It gets hot and dry during July in Oklahoma, so we looked forward to the fourth of July for several days before it’s arrival, because we knew that it meant we would get into our 33 Chevrolet and head for the old Deep Fork River where we could cool off and have some good old fashioned fun.
We made sure that we had our case of pop that usually consisted of a mixture of orange, strawberry, grape, cream soda, root beer and Coca cola.
